Before checking the oil, make sure you have parked your car on a level surface.
Turn off the engine, wait 5 minutes and, minding the heat, check the oil inside the engine compartment and the fan.
Do not touch the basin cap if the engine is still hot.
Do not add oil with features that are different from those already in the engine.
See an Jeep Dealership for replacement and proper disposal.
SPEAKING OF THE BATTERY
Always be very careful: battery liquid is corrosive and poisonous, so do not let it come in contact with your skin.
Remember: if the liquid level in your car is too low, it can damage the battery.
If your car has to remain unused for a long period, remove the battery and keep it in a closed, warm place.
If the battery freezes, do not try to recharge it. Check that all the internal components are intact and there are no cracks: they could cause the inner liquid to leak out.
Your Jeep Dealership is the best place to replace and dispose of your car battery with respect to the environment.
You can prolong your battery’s life with little tricks: make sure the doors and bonnet are firmly closed when you park and all the lights are off. Also remember not to leave the radio and/or emergency lights on for a long time when the engine is off.
SPEAKING OF FRONT AND REAR WINDOW WIPERS
To best keep up your wipers, keep the blade rubber parts clean and replace them at least once a year.
In low temperatures, make sure ice is not blocking the rubber part on the glass so the cold does not damage your blades. Remove any built-up snow on the window itself without using the wipers when the surface is dry.
Check that there is always fluid in the sprayer tank and the holes are not blocked.
SPEAKING OF WHEELS AND TYRES
Check your tyre pressure, including the spare, when they are not being used and are cold.
We advise periodic checking: about every two weeks and always prior to long trips.
Remember that you car’s road grip depends on inflation pressure: if it is too low, it can make the tyres overheat and consequently damage them.
SPEAKING OF THE BODY
In case of scratches or lines in your car’s body, immediately see to retouching them to prevent rust forming.
If you drive often on roads where anti-ice salt has been spread or in heavily polluted areas, wash your car frequently to be sure you are keeping as best you can.
Always keep your car in perfect shape: check that there are no puddles under the mats, remove dust from the fabric with a damp brush or use a vacuum cleaner. And last, clean the seats with a sponge soaked in water and a neutral detergent.
